This event is in the past.

MinnBUG is having its monthly meetup, Sunday, November 4th from 1-4pm at the University of Minnesota.  All are welcome!

1:00 to 1:30pm: The meeting will start with am HD screening of the recent Blender Foundation project "Tears of Steel", followed by a short, open discussion of the movie.

1:30 to ~3:00pm: We will hold a class in modelling techniques.  This class is the first in a series, presented by MinnBUG members, designed to share knowledge among all skills levels.

Class details:  Using a "hack knife" as a reference, Paul will be demonstrating basic modelling techniques, as well as some fancier tips and tricks to improve your modelling efficiency and prowess.  We will then work on our own versions of the model, and compare notes.
If you want to start working on the model prior to the meeting, feel free! Reference photos and an example model can be found in a folder at this link: groupspaces.com/MinnBUG/files/folder/30112

3:00 - 4:00pm: There will also be an open time for other Blender questions or issues, or just to chat and socialize.

Members attending are welcome to bring their own machines.

Place: University of Minnesota, Keller Hall, room 1-260, 200 Union St. South East, Minneapolis, MN. Link to campus map of Keller Hall, here: http://www1.umn.edu/twincities/maps/KHKH/
