Salam Dear Mecans
This year we feel honored for the opportunity to partake in an interfaith outreach event with I.Care. They want us to participate and help them raise supplies of all sorts for our Syrian refugee brothers and sisters. Please see the message below and RSVP here as well as on the Eventbrite link provided.
This April 8th, will mark I.Care's third year of organizing this interfaith multicultural service.
Their service project this year is focused on the current Syrian refugee crisis and immigrants, locally and worldwide. They will be collecting winter items, assembling hygiene kits, and sewing washable menstrual pads for young women. All these donations will benefit refugees and immigrants locally and globally. One Global Family Foundation and Helping Hand will do the shipping for the abroad refugees.
It would be great to see a strong presence of Meca members for this cause.
In addition to working together on a service project, we will have a short program with musical presentations and speeches from a number of Los Angeles religious organizations and city officials.
What can you do:
- Help with the donations collections, clothing, school supplies, water bottles and aluminum
- Bring attendees and volunteers on April 8th. We will be organizing and boxing all donations and loading in Helping Hands' trucks.
- Spreading the word, sharing the flyer, fb and eventbrite links.
