The University of Maryland Sailing Team competes against some of the best sailing teams in the nation. The team meets weekly on Tuesdays at 8pm in the level 1 conference room in the ERC. (Next to the racquetball courts.)
You do not need to have experience to join although sailing is a competitive sport that takes will and practice to learn and perfect.
We carpool to SSA in Annapolis several days a week to practice. This is not mandatory but it is necessary if you wish to be a competitive member of the team.
Our team is a tight knit group of people who share an interest in sailing, but also traveling and partying together. We have several organized social events each semester and we enjoy spending time together on and off the water.
