Welcome to KCL Sailing Club!
If you've ever found yourself stood in a packed tube carriage, longing for the open sea (or just a bit of space) then this club is for you!
Whether you're an experienced sailor looking to race against other unis, or a beginner looking to climb onto a boat for the first time, we got it all! Or if you just fancy a bit of casual sailing followed by a pint at the bar… we do that too!
We are based at the excellent Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre (http://www.dswc.org/) located just a short walk south of Canary Wharf (Jubilee line, easy!)
What we do:
Casual sailing: Perfect for when you need an hour or two to take a break from your work (or to clear up a hangover). You can come down to our weekly casual sailing sessions in Docklands and use the DSWC boats at an affordable rate. These will run throughout Autumn 2012, then they'll return again in the Spring and through the Summer of 2013.
RYA Dinghy Sailing courses: If you're completely new to sailing or just want to brush up your skills, an RYA course- run by one of the Club's qualified sailing instructors- will fit the bill. We'll be running them once a week over the course of a few weeks and they'll cover all the aspects of sailing to get you started.
Racing team: We're looking to form a team to compete against other uni teams across England, strong enough to strike fear in the hearts of every Southampton student…
Instructor training & jobs: If you're keen on getting your sailing skills to official RYA standard, and to make money doing something you love, we can arrange instructor training at the DSWC. Get in touch!
Sailing tours: Maybe you want to take a weekend trip to go sailing on the coast? Or a post-exams week in the Mediterranean to put your sailing skills to use in warmer waters? We will be organising tours once spring arrives, so keep an eye out.
So swing by to one of our socials, or just get in touch with us here! We promise we're a friendly bunch!
Cheers,
KCLSC
