Established in 2007 and reformed in 2012 as the Lamorinda Area Radio Interest Group, this organization is comprised of volunteer amateur radio emergency communicators. It is an American Radio Relay League affiliated organization with a roster of over 80 members. LARIG uses the group call sign K6ORI. LARIG members provide and care for their own equipment. The group lends communications support to local events including the Moraga Treeline Triathlon, The Orinda 4th of July Parade, the Nor Cal Kids Triathlon and the Great California Shakeout, and stands ready to offer assistance during emergencies. 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Sarge Littlehale Room, Orinda City Hall. Additionally K6ORI meets on-air all other Wednesdays at frequency 440.975 MHz at 7:30 p.m.
Members gather informally Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. at Orinda’s Café Teatro (library building)
