About this group
A student community which explores social action as a form of Christian service.
Through reflection and practical action, members will learn from each other about the issues facing local, national and international communities and how they can contribute to resolving them.
There are two main meetings:
Reflect: Every Tuesday at 5pm in the Emmanuel Centre (University of Leeds) we’ll meet for prayer, fellowship and reflection. This will involve discussions around your own experiences, guest speakers, debates or other interactive sessions.
Respond. This is centred on action and might include: volunteering within the local community, campaigning or fundraising. The hope is that you feel moved to volunteer or work with a project longer term and begin to make a real contribution.
Just. Act. is a collaboration between SPEAK Leeds and Christian Aid Yorkshire and is establishing links with a number of other groups in the community and within the Universities
