Milwaukee/Cedarburg Bike Ride

Friday, August 16th, 2019 at 9am - 6pm Sunday, August 18th

Location: Milwuakee and Cedarburg

This event is in the past.

Enjoy biking for two days - Saturday to Milwaukee’s waterfront and Sunday to downtown Cedarburg. Both paths are paved and fairly level. Riders can choose their own distance at any time.

On Saturday we will take the Oak Leaf trail from close to our hotel to Milwaukee’s waterfront, traversing woods, rolling hills, scenic meadows, glacial topography and suburban communities. At the waterfront, pass through harbors, Veteran’s Park and the Milwaukee Art Museum. We will lunch at a riverside restaurant. On the way back, enjoy a cool beverage in the shade at the trailside Beer Garden and Hubbard Park Lodge on the Milwaukee River. Round trip distance is 28 miles.

On Saturday night we can make reservations for all to dine at a bistro we have enjoyed immensely called Pastiche’s.

After breakfast on Sunday, we will bike the Interurban Trail to Cedarburg, an eight-mile one-way trip. You will find shopping, restaurants and breweries along the river, along with many wine tasting options. If you would rather not bike on Sunday, a nice nature preserve along the bluffs of Lake Michigan called Lion’s Den Gorge is a good option. It is a 20-minute drive from the hotel and from Cedarburg.

There is a bar at this hotel, so if you would like to join other club members for Friday night dinner or activities, as there are many options in the area, the meet-up time at the bar is 6:00 p.m.

Lodging: Friday and Saturday night, the 16 and 17th, at the Courtyard Marriott In Brown Deer, Wisconsin, double occupancy. Make you own reservation using the link given below. Total price is $250.92 for the two nights, double occupancy.
