We will start our trip in Milan, home of Italy’s stock exchange, an industrial powerhouse and the internationally accepted arbiter of taste in fashion and design, Milan is a bustling metropolis. Beneath the surface is a serious sense of history and place. The grand Gothic cathedral, the Duomo, lies at the geographical heart of this one-time Imperial Roman capital, and expresses the love of beauty and power that still drives the city today. Art collections old and new, unparalleled shopping, one of Europe’s biggest trade-fair complexes, sparkling nightlife, the prestige of opera at La Scala, the mark of Leonardo da Vinci's genius, and endless opportunities to eat the best of Lombard and Italian food should make this a great way to get over the jet lag while enjoying the sights.

After 2 nights in Milan, we will travel to Madonna di Campiglio via private bus. Madonna in the summer turns glorious; the snow melts and uncovers a world of enchanting lakes, streams, paths through the woods ... a world of discovery. Feel free to enjoy the hiking excursions in Madonna di Campiglio and the mountains that surround it. . The new Dolomiti di Brenta Trek, a double ring around the Brenta Group for mountain trekking, has recently been inaugurated. The “country” trail is for anyone looking for a less strenuous mountain walk through nature and culture and with the luxury of relaxing in comfortable hotels after the day’s hike. Through the Brenta Dolomites, the trails reach some of the most famous mountain huts – Riffugio Graffer, Rifugio Tuckett e Sella, Riguio Brentei, Rifugio Alimonta, Rifugio Casinei and Rifugio XII Apostoli – at the feet of majestic peaks. You can start hiking from the bottom of the valley or from higher up the mountain, thanks to the ski lifts that take you quickly to higher elevations.

After 4 nights, in Madonna, we will again travel via private bus to Trento. Modern Trento is quietly confident, liberal and easy to like. Bicycles glide along spotless streets fanning out from the atmospheric, intimate Piazza del Duomo, students clink spritzes by Renaissance fountains and a dozen historical eras intermingle seamlessly amid stone castles, shady porticoes and the city's signature medieval frescoes. While there's no doubt you're in Italy, Trento does have its share of Austrian influence: apple strudel is ubiquitous and beer halls not uncommon. Set in a wide glacial valley guarded by the crenulated peaks of the Brenta Dolomites, amid a patchwork of vineyards and apple orchards, Trento is a perfect for biking, site seeing and / or wine tasting.

And next after spending 2 nights in Trento, we will cap off a wonderful trip with 2 nights in Santa Margherita Ligure (again transport via private bus). Santa Margherita is that wonderfully old-fashioned kind of Riviera resort where palm fronds wave along the esplanade and visitors spend a week or two out of season, enjoying the balmy climate, attractive views and comfortable long-established hotels. Good daytrips from 'Santa Margherita include Portofino, the picturesque San Fruttuoso monastery, the resorts of Camogli and Rapallo, Genoa and the Cinque Terre (around an hour by train, or an all-day boat excursion).

Italy’s Cinque Terre region consists of five beautiful coastline villages along a 10-mile stretch just north of La Spezia. The main occupations of the villagers revolve around their vineyards and fishing; the population of each town is less than 1,000, except for Monterossa with 2,000 inhabitants. The train provides access between the villages at approximately 2 hour intervals. Hiking trails also connect the villages. Each village fills a ravine with a lazy hive of human activity — calloused locals and sunburned travelers enjoying the area's unique mix of Italian culture and nature. There's not a Fiat or museum in sight — just sun, sea, sand, wine, and pure, unadulterated Italy.
