Sun Oven Presentation!

"I'll bring mine in so you all can see it in person and I can share the (limited) experiences I've had with it. There are WONDERFUL videos & LOTS of information on the http://www.sunoven.com site.

I've used mine for:

- heating water for dishes or baths.

- boiling water for safe drinking

- slow cooking pot roast, soups, casseroles, etc.

- baking brownies & cookies

It has the potential to dehydrate (preserve) foods, bake loaves of bread, and more.

Perhaps more interesting, is the small rocket stove I make from a #10 can, & 3 soup cans. It's tiny, cheap, burns a HOT fire using only twigs, & next to nothing for smoke. They're great for boiling or frying food. You can group them together with cinder blocks and make yourself a 4 or 6 burner stove for large meals. To make one later at home, please save the metal lids from the cans & choose cans without the interior coating.

Awesome post. HID lighting does, however have its down sides such as heat generation. Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium lamps create a lot of undesirable heat.
