Introduction:
I have been learning for the past 3-4 years to ready myself for building and maintaining a farmstead. I raised chickens and have butchered a cockerel, treated a lash egg bound hen, and have gotten into woodworking while remodeling and readying our last home for sale. We sold our home just outside Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to the PNW. Our dream and hard work is coming to fruition as we will be closing on a purchase of 20 acres in Cocolalla in a few days. I want to continue to learn and put into practice on our own land to build a homestead/farm to sustain us and the community we live in.

How did you hear about us?:
Our realtor, Eric Craig, suggested I join inwprep.com.

I just dropped about a dozen out of our group

E-mail sent by BG1RS 22PLINKER, Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 @ 12:02am

I just dropped about a dozen out of our group.

I've no idea why anyone would join, and then refuse to receive emails, yet remain in the group.
All that means is a larger list of names, and Groupspaces charges me by the # we have signed up.
So, no emails, no membership.  Seems simple enough.
As it is, the plan I'm under charges me $100, and I'm about to be graduated to a $200 level.  Weeding out a dozen saves me a few bucks.

Phase Two of The Weedout is Coming -
In the next few days, I'll be sending out a few questions for you to answer.  This will accomplish a couple things:
1 - it will allow me to assign you a "call sign" that will be distinctly for inwp members to use on non-ham frequencies for radio use.  It may be ALSO used in conjunction with FCC call signs for ham use; a private "handle" if you will.  It will be translateable so that you would know some basics about the other entities you'd be speaking to, and would provide some security.  As it is, FCC call signs can be looked up as a public record, and "bad guys" can look up your name and address.  This assigned call sign will also give an indication of whether a caller is from your neighborhood or not.
2 - Those who do NOT respond within a week will be dropped from membership.  I've said all along, I'd rather have a couple dozen dedicated and participating members, supporting each other, than a couple hundred to stroke my ego.  Besides, more dead weight is not only costing me more, but is a communications / security liability.

So, when you get an email from me that asks, HUB or SPOKE?  you know to answer it to stay on board . . .
Thanks!

Russ
