NEEDED: Temp Housing (Member / Vet / Asset) -
Just looking for a place for my family temporarily
until our house sells in Panama City, FL and we can close on a place here.  I went through Army chem school in Ft. McClellan and have a NEC 9598 Disaster Preparedness Operations Specialist. I also do limited handyman work. I am also a disabled vet which limits me a bit, but willing to help where I can.

Updates: Cherry Pitters, dehydrators and more!

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Sunday, July 23rd, 2017 @ 11:51pm

Today's pistol class:  8 Attendees, some of whom had never shot before, all placing their shots within a one-inch circle.  My compliments to all! I look forward to setting your Module Two Date, where you'll be presenting from the holster.  See: www.PistolProf.com - set up a class for your family, friends, neighbors or church, only $39 each!  That's the site that pays for this group, and your support is appreciated.
Cherry Pitter: we have a wonderful European one, and this one on CL is very similar; you may want to check it out!  See: https://spokane.craigslist.org/grd/d/norpro-deluxe-cherry-pitter/6232589509.html ;
Free Dehydrator:  We have an "American Harvest" with some cosmetic cracks.  This would be a great starter for someone wanting to experiment with dehydrating (that's how we do virtually ALL our preserving).  So, if you've never tried it, are on a budget, and would like to pick it up, contact me "FCFS".
Free Vintage Camper, 16' - has been used for storage.  Also would work for hunting camper, chicken coop / tractor, etc..  Will put on a price & sell on CL if no takers here in the next week.
Farm Help, $10 hr - Someone to weed, shovel wood chips, clean pens, buggylug, etc.  Got a kid (or older) who wants to make cash and can keep their hands (not lips) moving, and also learn organic farm practices in raised beds, greenhouses, Back to Eden Gardens, chickens, dairy goats, etc.?  Same pay as I charge as an NRA Instructor; could swap for training, also!
Got an ad, something to buy or sell?  I can network it for you to the group.  Email me, let's help each other out.

Thanks!

Russ

PICS: Norinco SKS , $400, inwPrep Member Price

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Sunday, July 16th, 2017 @ 12:00pm

Folks, check around, this is a good price for a quality semi-auto.  Not cheap Romanian stuff.  Uses same economical ammo as AKs.  Notorious deer rifle.  Reply to phone #, NOT email! - Russter

PRIVATE SALE (IDAHO): Norinco SKS 7.62 x 39 mm Semi-auto, very good condition, matching serial numbers on receiver, stock, and 10-round magazine, 16.5" barrel,  bright bore, includes sling, spike bayonet, cleaning kit, 30-round plastic magazine ("duckbill" type), butt stock extender (lengthens stock length for taller folk), stock and receiver show handling marks and cleaning process marks (see pictures).  Discounted asking price $400 for inwPrep members, cash - Thanks! 509-292-0326

"Due to its relatively low cost and widespread availability and usage, the SKS has spawned a growing market for both replacement parts and accessories. Many aftermarket parts are available to modify the carbine—sometimes so considerably that it bears little resemblance to the original firearm. This may include items such as synthetic
stocks, pistol grips, higher capacity magazines, replacement receiver covers (to allow the mounting of scopes, lasers, etc.), different muzzle brakes, recoil buffers, bipods, and more."

Picnics & Potlucks, Sales & Specials, CERTS & Shoots!

Picnics & Potlucks, Sales & Specials, CERTS & Shoots!

6:30 PM This Saturday – Way before any fireworks – Free Hot Dogs at our regular meeting in Newport (216 S. Washington St).  Bring along soft drinks and a covered dish to share; sponsored by Pend Orielle Oath Keepers.  Please reply to this email if attending, so we have an idea for food preps!

Most everything you buy is made in China these days, so I can’t feel terribly bad about putting in a plug for Harbor Freight Tools . . .  See the coupon on the back cover of their July catalog.  Their standard 45 watt solar panel kit has now been replaced by a 100 watt kit, for the same $150 price through July!  Along with a deep cycle battery, this makes for a good intro package for solar electricity.

Lindy scored some basic BaoFeng Ham radios for $20 each!  Now we’re getting cheaper than WM walkie-talkies, with much more capabilities.  Follow the simple directions we’ve given at meetings to emp-proof some spares.

Congrats to the cadre and graduates of the Inland Northwest’s very first C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response) Team!  Please come to our combined www.inwPrep.com / Oath Keepers preparedness meetings!

I’ve been in some WM stores lately where you can get 1,000 rds of .22LR ammo for less than $55!  3 boxes of WWB (Winchester White Box) 333 rds ea.  Copper-plated hollow-point.  Also, steel cased TULA 9mm target ammo, 50 rds for $7.76.  Time to start hitting the ranges . . . Contact me NOW to join in on the pistol Class on July 23, 1-5PM.  Ladies, learn to outshoot your guys in one afternoon!  $39 class qualifies for Concealed Carry Training.  Details: www.inwPrep.com .

Oh, one more thing . . . Baby Goat for sale!  we had 3 blue-eyed Nigerian Dwarf doelings born here on the farm on June 10th.  Mother is from strong milking lines and father is a registered N.D. buck with a great lineage.  Butterscotch is light-colored with some tricolor markings, about to be disbudded, already exploring 'real' food, but still has another 7+ weeks until weaning. $75 deposit will hold, other half due at pickup.  Incredibly friendly and humanized!

Thanks!

CERT is a multi-national response network for local emergencies.  Bob Howard, Brenda Bramwell and Alan Bramwell have created a cadre of excellent instructors here in Bonner County who have put out the call for volunteers.  Over 20 volunteers have responded, and I am thrilled to say that almost half of the FIRST GRADUATING CLASS have been members of our group!

Over the course of the past three weeks, they have attended classes and studied at home to be awarded this certification; hats off to all, as well as to the fantastic team of instructors!

Cheap Ammo; "COMMUNITY FORCE" Meeting Tonight!

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Friday, June 23rd, 2017 @ 7:10am

I'll take Bonner County Sheriff Wheeler's "Community Force" sign over a limpy "Neighborhood Watch" sign any day.  He explains the program in Blanchard tonight at the Community Center, 6 - 8PM.  Let's see about filling the HooDoo Valley area (and more) with signs - all are welcomed!

9mm TULA AMMO is stupid cheap at WalMarts right now, about $7.76 per 50; steel case, non-reloadable.  Perfect for target practice - even if you get a misfire, it's great training for practice clearing the 3 malfunctions.  If you can't do 2 out of the 3 of them in just a second or 2, I'll see you in class. Check the calendar at www.inwPrep.com for class dates!

Discontinuing the CDA / Post Falls Meetings

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 @ 2:41pm

PLEASE READ
Members have apparently voted, by their absence & silence, to discontinue the monthly meetings for these 2 areas. . . . at least for the summer months.  CDA had petered out a month ago or more, and it was combined with Post Falls last month.
Joining me in Post Falls last month at 6PM were only 2 people; one from Washington state, and one from Spirit Lake.
An email I sent out for tonight's meeting brought back two NO and zero YES.
I fully understand, when warmer weather hits, that folks have all kinds of things to do with longer daylight hours.  I know that I certainly am busier also, running businesses, a farm, and this organization.  A 90+ minute round trip from the Blanchard area is time that can be well spent on other projects.

Interestingly, Spirit Lake, Athol and Newport - the rural areas - continue to grow in attendance.  Also, Spirit Lake appears to be taking the lead in "developing community" by interaction among fellow members and events at residents' homes.
Folks, let me know when you have a dozen people who want to have a meeting along the rt 90 corridor.  Until that time, we'll just continue with the more active groups in the Newport and Athol / Spirit Lake areas.
Thanks!

Russ

.22LR Ammunition: Prices, Availability

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Thursday, June 15th, 2017 @ 8:38pm

I've been keeping an eye on places like
http://shootingsports.defenderoutdoors.com/nav/ammunition/rimfire-ammo/bullet-type-cphp/cartridge~.22-long-rifle ;
and
http://www.ammoman.com/22-long-rifle?jacket_type=26
for copper plated hollow point, and the best price I've found is at WalMart.  333 rounds for $17.37.  That's a hair over $52 per thousand.  A nickel a shot (some of us are old enough to remember when they were a penny a shot- I guess it's all relative; the $49 Ruger 10-22 I bought in 1970 costs 5x that now, too).
It's WWB, not CCI, but we're talking .22, not 30-06 with MOA accuracy.  Call your local store for availability, and stock up if you didn't 9 years ago . . . .

Wed in Athol- Archery and Inventory!

It's been posted for a month at www.inwPrep.com , but I wanted everybody to be reminded that TROY (Spirit Lake) will be giving an INTRO TO ARCHERY While LINDY (Athol) gives tips and techniques for KEEPING TRACK OF INVENTORY!

Congrats, CERT Training Attendees!

The first C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) Training ever held in North Idaho started today, and continues for the next 2 Saturdays.  Dozens of volunteers are attending, and at least a third are from us here at www.inwPrep.com
Many more of you wanted to attend, I know, but the spaces got filled up.  We'll have more classes coming up, and this is fantastic training for all, into preparedness or not.

Subject: Winchester Wooden Gift Box with 500 rds of 22LR

Winchester 22LR Special:

As a dealer, I have to buy full cases (6-wooden boxes per case).  However, I can split up the case; selling each box (500 rds) for $35, or all 6 boxes (3,000 rds) for $210 per case.   This works out to $3.50 per 5o rds. which is good price for 22 ammo.    This is 36 grain HP Plated ammo and the wood box makes it a nice gift.

Let me know how many boxes or cases of this Winchester ammo you would like.    I will combine your orders and place it later next week, (WED)  as long as the supply last.

Thanks,

Mike
