I know zero about guns; but I think I should change that.

Very soon I will attain membership in the three quarters of a century age group. My life has been blissfully gentle. I am a happy person and although I have recently been watching the demise of our world as we know it I intend to remain a happy person until my time expires. My husband has encouraged me to own a handgun. I have never had such an interest; but accompanied him to a gun shop anyway. There we learned my fingers did not have the strength to even cock a revolver. It seems guns are harder to handle than crochet hooks. Upon hearing that story, a friend recommended your site to me. So, here I am. Weak, ignorant and willing to learn.

How did you hear about us?:

His sire is COPPER; info below.

Dam CALICO is Mini-Nubian  (Nigerian / Nubian) mix with good lineage, udder attachment & easy to milk.  This is her first kidding.

EXPO has all the makings of a great herd sire and will be ready to leave by Thanksgiving.

Our farm is organic, and our critters are raised well.  Make an offer for him, intact or cut, including trade for labor, leafy alfalfa, or ammo.

My wife and I retired two and a half years ago. A year later we finally made our escape from the city of Portland. We moved up here and bought ten acres on the side of the mountain. It keeps us busy and we love it. We are conservative Christians and have been prepping for several years. We are interested in networking with like minded people.

Member wants TRUSTED Hunting Companion / Guide -

Only open to Group members / immediate family!

This IS a Bonner County outdoorsperson who wants to expand a skill set.
Reply to me, I will forward possibles to the member for contact.
Include name, email, tel #, town, approx age, M/F, & experience.
Here's the request:

I have my deer and elk tag. I was wondering if there was someone out there that would be willing to take me out hunting for either one or both. I have my 30.06 sighted in. I have a side by side for transportation also. I have never gone hunting and have no idea of how to handle the aftermath. Do you know of someone? Maybe you can send out an email to the group?

If you get dropped from the member's list -

If you get dropped from the member's list -
It's likely because of an extended period of apparent inactivity on your part.  If you feel that you've been dropped in error, feel free to check your membership status after signing in.  You may always rejoin.
This website costs me a couple hundred bucks a year.  The more members, the more it costs.  As stated on the home page, this is a site for active, participating members who want to develop a sense of community.  A handful of active participants means far more than hundreds of "joiners" - my apologies if you get dropped in error!

Nice Job Today!  See your Thursday

What a crowd!  Quite the turnout today for that benefit Estate Sale.  When you take all the folks in our group, add the networking and contacts from members like Ranger and Lindy, we got the word out to at least a thousand people on short notice.  That means a lot to a family in need.  Great job, people!

So, Thursday evening is our monthly "Chow & Chat" - again in Blanchard.  While the years of FREE monthly training, workshops, lectures & lessons we've done are priceless, there's a growing demand for creating COMMs - Communications ( and Community, via our Eat & Greets.  Last month, folks enjoyed the new Blanchard venue, so we're hitting it again.  See details on the calendar at ; Be sure to reply to me by this WED PM, so I can reserve a seat for you!

Also a success was the recent cast Iron Dutch Oven Cooking for Novices - how many want to do that again in the next few weeks before the weather gets to cold?  Man, did we have a LOT of great food!  Plus, we had a lot of items exchanged via our Sell & Swap.

Tell me your needs & wants, let's help each other . . .
Catch you at 146.520, @ 9:15AM & 7:15PM, "most days", for informal radio check-ins -

The Great Prepper Movie List!

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 @ 8:57pm

I just came across this list; Winter's coming!  Get your NetFlix lined up . . .

I present to you, The Great Prepper Movie List! There is a section for family appropriate movies but please consult the ratings and reviews of a movie before turning it on with the kids.

A lot of the older movies and documentaries on this list can be found on Netflix and/or YouTube, those are good places to look as well. Please note – due the nature of what we prepare for, outside of the family category, some of the movies on these lists are exceedingly violent in nature. I have linked the movies to Amazon or Wikipedia where ever possible, please read about the movie before you get it. Check the synopsis, ratings and reviews prior to viewing or purchasing especially if you are sensitive to certain types of violent situations.

Click on the listed Movies below to read more about them. Each one is linked to a purchasing source and/or more information.

1st milking, the fast & easy way!

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 @ 11:33pm

Our brown & white Nigerian Dwarf, Mischa, has one buckling left on her (others sold off).  Without any separation time from the kid, I milked 3 pints in 3 minutes this evening using a Dansha "Frontier" rechargeable 2-teat model.  No filters, pads or buckets needed.  Jeanne kept her distracted at the stanchion feed trough.  Slipped a bottle of frozen h20 into a 1/2 gal mason jar, milked directly into jar with the tubes, had cold milk by the time I got back to the kitchen!  Very rich and sweet; like half & half.  Success!

Welcome New Member Denis (DeNEE) from SANDPOINT!

E-mail sent by Russ, PistolProf, Sunday, September 16th, 2018 @ 9:43pm

Denis will be part of our "Field Day" celebration on Sunday, Sept 30 in Newport/ Oldtown!

Zwang, a native of the Netherlands, will present the concept of healing sounds, tones and frequencies.
These modalities have been used for healing in ancient times, but over the centuries have been lost, although some Native American tribes still use their flutes and drums for healing.

Denis is the woodwind instructor (saxophone, clarinet, flute, oboe and Native American flutes) at the "Music Conservatory of Sandpoint" and has played in bands and orchestras throughout the western U.S. , Europe, and for hospice organizations.

He has lived and studied native flutes and sound healing in the 4 Corners area with Native Americans and used these tones in conjunction with the body chakras and meridians for comfort and healing.
He would like to play the native flutes and share these ideas with you.
