FIRE & Emergency Evac meeting for Livestock & Pets - Blanchard Grange, Mon Sept 9, 6:45 PM.  Guest Speaker Bob Howard of Bonner County Emergency Mgmt.  We're creating a network throughout BonCo of Granges etc as focus points for rvacuation plans and emergency communications centers (including plain walkie talkies!).  Pass the word & show up.  Need signups for transporting and sheltering; the critters saved may be your own!

CERT CLASSES starting!  We've graduated nearly a hundred BonCo citizens thru this program in the past 3 years; I'm thrilled to say that the majority have come from the ranks of our very own www.inwPrep.com Team!  This is a VERY worthwhile project, sponsored by BoCo Emergency Mgmt (thanks, Bob Howard!).  Many of us from the first class have attended every one that followed, serving as cadre for the new attendees.  I intend to be there again for this one.  It makes no difference regarding age or physical shape; there's a place for everyone.  If nothing else, this is a fantastic confidence-builder for living out in our neck of the woods.  Please see attached flyer for details, or contact: Email: EM@bonnercountyid.gov  - Phone: 208-265-8867

Bonner County CERT class starts September 28th, 2019!

Bonner County Emergency Management is proud to sponsor a CERT class this fall. CERT educates people about emergency and disaster preparedness for haz-ards that may impact their area. It trains them in basic disaster response skills. Using the training they learn, CERT members can assist themselves, family and others in the community following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT training will be taught on four Saturdays 9/28, 10/12, 10/26 and 11/9 from 8:00 AM—2:00 PM, working lunch.

Thanks!

Skills / hobbies to share with this group::
Gardening, raising chickens, turkeys, geese, etc. growing and saving berries, prepping for immediate family. I like research. I have done some simple items, such as cotton ball/wax fire starters, seed saving.

What topic(s) would you like to learn?:
I want to learn what constitutes and decent prep "bag". I try and think down the road what will be needed, but am I doing this wrong? When should one stay in the home and when and what are the signs that say "bug out". I want to know is there a plan in place for people to go to and where and how will it be defended?? Sometimes it feeling like floundering when you are trying to do this alone.

Introduction:
I Want to meet and get to know my neighbors, as I have always felt alone in trying to prep for what may come. I am sure I need to learn more ideas about being prepared. l try and do as much research about different things as I can. My husband is a retired disabled vet, so I have great interest in things out there for vets and what knowledge they can bring to the table.

How did you hear about us?:
From Richard Gage. I went to a meeting and discussions at his home and he brought up your name and group as you are close to me and can give me direction.

Thanks!

Keeping livestock/vet science and handling, esp sheep, llamas, horses. Background in medical practice. 4H shooting sports leader.

I'd like to have a better understanding of what hand tools are the most useful to stockpile, or "how to gather the most useful Tool kit". With so many projects over the years a person can accumulate a mess... which should be set aside in a kit that is easily mobile, etc. Maybe some advice about what makes them so useful and what features to look for.

Livestock farmer, forest landowner for decades. Retired from medical practice. Worked in Asia and traveled with backpack around the world back in the day. Grey hair now. Enjoy teaching people new to farm & homesteading and 4 H kids how to care for livestock. One of the originators of the Careywood Community Preparedness Network because we recognized the need. CERT trained.

Various...probably first thru CERT training course.

And They Call This PROGRESSIVE???!!!

from The Health Ranger, Mike Adams -

NaturalNews.com
Why is there raw human sewage all over the coast of California and Texas?
Mike Adams

I have a concerning video and quick article for you today that reveals why the beaches of California and Texas are heavily contaminated with raw human feces.

In California, liberal city policies allow people to defecate right on the sidewalks and streets. Each time it rains, this untreated human sewage is flushed through the storm drains, directly into the Pacific Ocean. Winds and waves deposit that human sewage on the beaches.

In Texas, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is dumping raw, untreated human sewage from arriving airplanes directly into the city's storm drains. Those also drain right into the Gulf of Mexico after passing through various waterways (rivers, streams and lakes). The result is massive contamination of Texas beaches with raw sewage and biological hazards.

Thanks to the policies of these cities, America is now descending into a Third World status, with more filth and feces than I've ever seen in any Third World nation.

Watch my full video on this at NaturalNews.com. (The video is posting by 3pm central, Friday, so if you don't see it yet, just wait until 3pm.)

We're cutting back on Meetings -

E-mail sent by BG1RS 22PLINKER, Friday, June 21st, 2019 @ 6:56pm

Per member feedback, we're cutting back on Meetings, at least for the summer.

This is nothing new, and totally expected, as it's a re-run of the past dozen or so years:  Weather is great, attendance is down, choices are many, and obligations are overwhelming!

Chris initiated the 2x / month meetings at his coffee shop, and we were happy to help network them.  As far as I know. he'll continue with them, they are just not posted  on the inwPrep calendar.  Last meeting I was at (with ONE other person), his Air Conditioner was doing a great job . . . Thanks, Chris!

Our next meeting is  5:30 Monday at the Blanchard Grange - bring a snack.  We still have a list of topics for 1st Sunday Afternoons at the Grange; You folks decide if you want to continue with them, or possibly merge them as programs into the 4th Monday evenings?

Third Thursdays are still  Eat, Meet & Greets, esp for new members, radio topics, etc  at the Blanchard Inn, 5:30.

Special Events are still always posted on the calendar at www.inwPrep.com, such as the July 1st Radio Programming and the 3rd Sunday Redoubt Rendezvous Flea Market (as great source for radios & rifles).

Let me know your preferences!

Thanks-
Russ
