This event is in the past.

Dear Pony Clubbers,

The HKPC Easter Camp will be held at Tuen Mun Public Riding School. This is a mixed age camp and is open to all HKPC members who are aged 7yrs and above and all riding levels from beginner to advanced. We would really like to encourage our older and more experienced riders to come, without them it is very difficult to run the camp as we can't rely on volunteers to help mentor the younger kids.

Camp will run from approximately 8.30am to 5pm on Day 1-2, Day 3 is competition day and will finish at 2pm.

However, if the weather is good there may also be a Water Games after lunch, though we will need some willing parents to organise this, please ask for more details if you are willing!

Each child will be paired with another member and will share a horse/pony with them for the whole of camp. They will ride in groups of up to 6 twice a day on Day 1 and 2. They will also be able to have a go at vaulting, which is basically gymnastics on horseback and is great fun.

On Day 3 the competition the competition runs in the morning and is followed by a BBQ and Prize Giving. Parents are encouraged to come and watch the competition and join in BBQ

One of the very important parts of camp is learning how to look after the ponies, there will be lots of time spent in the stables, grooming, tacking up, cuddling the ponies (especially the minis)!!

The younger, less experienced campers will have lots of help. There will also be non stable activities such as horsey arts and crafts.

On Day 1 campers are asked to bring a packed lunch, Day 2 we order in Pizzas, and on Day 3 there will be a BBQ with burgers, hot-dogs and a variety of salads. Throughout camp there will be water and squash available, as well as unlimited fruit and snacks. On the final day
we ask parents to please bring a salad or dessert, the HKPC will provide all burgers, hot dogs, condiments etc.

These camps cannot run without the help from volunteers.  If you are free we would really appreciate your help.

General Information:
Parents may come to watch and support their children on the last day of Camp, but for the Day 1 and Day 2, please, only parents who are scheduled to help.

Indemnity, medical and permission forms will be sent to campers who receive a place.

Any questions, please email us.

If any members have their own horse/pony on full livery and would like to bring them to camp please email the secretary and we will try to accommodate you.
