Trans/Gender Awareness Week Review.

Hi, (sorry this is a little bit late.)

Trans/Gender Awareness Week Page

We'd like to say a massive thank you to all those involved in Trans/gender awareness week. I think we made huge waves with it and educated a lot of people, and it was all down to you guys, on the stall every day raising money from 11-3, taking questions, and then after all that coming to the lectures that we'd organised for you that week too. So a big thank you to everyone who helped out at the stall.

Also like to say a big thank you to anyone who donated money, because that helped us raise a massive £800. We were splitting this between the LGBT+ and GIRES. This means that we overtook our fundraising targets that the union set us this year in just one week. That's awesome! All thanks to those people who donated.

We had some great lectures to, where even I learned some stuff. Jenny-Anne created a very insightful lecture on how the media portrays trans* people and what we can do to help. Dave Merchant did an excellent lecture on Trans* people and sport, posing a lot of questions and making us really think on our feet. It was really great fun. Last but not least Stephen Whittle came up and gave us a wealth of information with a really inspiring talk about trans* people through history with smatterings of law and the struggles they've been through. With a great turn out to all of these, we hope you enjoyed them all and got something from each of them.

Thank you very much, because without you this would never have been as successful as it was.

The Trans/gender week page has been taken down from the tabs, but it still exists, however I will add all of the stuff we used onto this page in case you would like to refer to it again.

I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas and Happy new year to you all. Good luck to all those with exams.
