This event is in the past.

When: Saturday 9th June
Where: Strawberry Field, Warsash, SO31 9GW, OS Explorer 119, Grid Ref SU492060
Task:      Path work
Client:  Hampshire County Council

Leader:  Jim Coleman

The Warsash area was once renowned for its strawberry growing, most of which has now gone.  The area known has Strawberry Filed is now an open space for the public to pursue quite recreation and enjoy views across the River Hamble and down Southampton Water.  The Solent Way crosses the Filed along the cliff edge.

Our work today is to carry out some much needed path repairs to enable people to continue enjoying the site without damaging it.

Meet at 10am at the five bar gate in Newtown Road, Warsash.  From the A27 between junction 8 and 9 of the M27 head towards Warsash.  At the roundabout in the centre of Warsash head south on Newtown Road.  Just past Garden Mews on the right you will see a gate leading to the site, this where we will be meeting.
