This event is in the past.
Yosemite Area Audubon has planned a joint birding trip in the Mono Lake area with the Eastern Sierra Audubon Society. We will meet at 8:30 AM on Saturday Oct. 1, 2011, at the Mono Lake County Park. It is located at the northwest corner of the lake and is reachable via Cemetery Road off US 395. We will bird the following areas: Rush Creek, the Deschambeau Ponds, Lundy Canyon and the Mono County Park and its boardwalk to the Lake. We will decide what order we will go when we meet on Saturday morning. The Yosemite Area group plans to continue birding on Sunday morning before heading home.
Most people will want to drive over Tioga Pass on Friday in order to be there for the 8:30 meeting time. If you prefer to drive over on Saturday, you can meet the group at the Mono County Park at 12:00 noon. We will all have lunch together there, so bring your loaded brown bag or equivalent lunch. And don't forget to bring water, warm clothes, binoculars and scopes.
Everyone is responsible for arranging for their own lodging.
