LSE FoodCycle have been running for over a year now- we cook fantastic cuisine (with a french twist), using food from Sainsbury's Holborn, Planet Organic and Islington farmers market! We cook at the Holy Cross Centre Trust ever Sunday afternoon and always welcome more volunteers and supporters!
As London started to feel a bit more like Autumn we decided to reflect that in our cooking. Despite their being no surplus bread this week we managed to pick up some crazy looking cauliflower and other seasonal vegetable from Waitrose and Chapel Market in Angel and we headed to HCCT ready to cook up a storm. Our amazing team of volunteers included our two star head chef's: Johnny and Sid and sous-chef's Kat, Jennie and Becky. After some furious chopping we were ready with time to spare, serving up a potato salad with green beans and fresh sweetcorn, followed by a wholesome cauliflower and pasta bake with kale. To finish it all off Kat and Becky created what one service user called "the best crumble I have ever eaten" served with hot custard!
