Easy Way to help with EasyFundraising – A Guide

Posted by Donna Shiell, Wednesday, 16th May 2012 @ 8:27pm

  • Hello there! I am David Spalton, fundraising coordinator at Farnham & Wey Valley Cats Protection.

As a Cats Protection branch, run entirely by volunteers, we have to raise the vast majority of our funds ourselves. The branch homes around 300 cats and kittens every year, and every one of these felines receives all the veterinary care it needs (as a minimum including a preliminary vet check, plus vaccinations, neutering and microchipping as necessary).

We do our best to minimise costs where feasible (and some of the local vets are very kind to us in this respect) but this level of care, plus of course food, litter and everything else the cats need, takes a lot of money every single month.

This document helps you help us, by taking part in free offers that will raise us some money via EasyFundraising. EasyFundraising is a great way to help and support us simply by doing what you normally do. It doesn’t cost you anything extra.

First off, go to (or as an easy to type option).
From here, you can see the total that we have raised so far.
Once you are here, at the top, in yellow you will see ‘Register Now’. Clicking on it will give you an option to ‘Support a Cause’
Start to type ‘Farnham and Wey Valley Cats Protection’ and halfway through it will appear below your text box. All you need to do is click on it and you get the registration page. Simply fill in your details from here and press submit.
Once you are signed in, you can head to the ‘Find a Retailer’ option and start to shop.
When you find your retailer, click on the ‘Shop Now’ button and the click is verified so that anything you spend Farnham and Wey Valley Cats Protection will get a percentage of what you spend.

    Buying Products
When you purchase something using a link you have clicked on from our EasyFundraising page, we will get a commission of your sale.
Some of the retailers specify a fixed amount, where as others will say a percentage of your sale.

    Now, The BEST BIT!
There are several options here that you need to spend NOTHING on and we can get credit for the branch.
    Theses do change from time to time but some are listed below;
    - O2 Free Sim Card Offer
With the o2 free sim card offer, when you request it, we get a 50p donation. But if you activate it with £10 worth of credit, we get a further £2 donation. So £2.50 in total.

    - Vodafone Free Sim Card offer
All you need to do is fill in the form, and click on send to get a free pay as you go sim card. In return we get a 50p donation.

    - T-Mobile Free Sim Card Offer
Again, all you need to do is register and get a free sim card for a 25p Donation to the Charity.

    - Tesco Mobile
Another sim card one, Raise 70p when you order a free sim card, or raise £1.60 when you buy credit for it as well.

    The ToolBar
EasyFundraising also do a toolbar that you can install. This is simply a bit of software that runs with your Internet browser and will alert you when you are going to a shop where you can get money for Farnham & Wey Valley Cats Protection. Saves you doing all the legwork by searching for them!

    Using Search
You can also use the search option, as your search engine. We will get 0.5p for every search you do when you click on the results from that page.

If you need any help at all feel free to reply to this post or drop me an email on

Reliable volunteers wanted for home visits in Farnham / Bordon / Petersfield

Posted by Louisa Bird, Wednesday, 9th May 2012 @ 7:48am

  • Home visitors wanted in the Farnham / Bordon / Liss / Petersfield area to visit potential adopters.

This involves contacting people who have enquired about adopting from the branch, and popping round to them for an informal chat to discuss their wants and preferences. Training will be given, but home visitors must be friendly, good with people, able to use their own transport to get to visits, and above all, must be 100% reliable!

Please email for more details if you are interested and can spare perhaps an hour or two a week.

Are you a needlewoman?

E-mail sent by Tandy Murphy, Monday, 16th April 2012 @ 10:36am

We have been given two large black sacks of old blankets, duvets, towels and brushed cotton sheets.  They would make really good cat blankets and cat basket liners if they were smaller but we need a volunteer to cut and sew them into sensible sizes.

Is there anyone who would be willing to do this.  If so, please give me an email.

Fingers crossed,

Help wanted on Friday 9th / Saturday 10th September in Aldershot

Posted by Louisa Bird, Monday, 8th August 2011 @ 11:08am

  • The branch has been assigned two dates to collect money at the Tescos store in Aldershot on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th September.

This is a fantastic fundraising opportunity, but will only work if we have enough people to help out.

If you are free and can help out on either of those two dates – even if just for a couple of hours – please email Amanda on

We really do need your help with this one as the funds are desperately needed for us to continue the branch’s work in helping unwanted and abandoned cats in the local area.

Please consider helping out if you can - thank you!

Still needing volunteers - only two so far and I dont want to cancel this worthwhile fund raiser! Thanks

Win a foot massage (or another relaxing therapy treatment of your choice!)

Posted by Louisa Bird, Tuesday, 17th May 2011 @ 7:48am

  • Don't waste your money on the lottery - it's just not gonna happen! Chill out and opt instead to spend your hard-earned on a ticket or five in our pampering prize raffle for your chance to win one of ten relaxing therapy treatments by AngelaS Therapies.

Angela is a professional therapist, and as a generous supporter of the branch she has kindly donated ten wonderful therapy sessions to raise funds for us. If you are one of our ten winners, you can choose a full one-hour session of back massage, reflexology (therapeutic foot massage), a relaxing facial, reiki healing, Indian head massage, or a combination to suit you.

The session can be conducted in your own home (within the Farnham and Wey Valley areas), or at Angela's therapy centre easily accessed off the A325 from Farnham.

Tickets are just £1 for five, and by my calculations your odds of winning are approximately 14 million times greater than winning the lottery jackpot - so don't miss out!

Grab your tickets while you can by emailing Louisa on !
