"If there is a future of peace for humankind, if there is to be an understanding of how these invisible, internal things should fit together, I expect it will come from the artists, because that's what we do."

Happy Summer, everyone!
We are accepting project proposals for the upcoming semester, Fall 2011. Our mission is to allow for multiple experimental projects in the arts while utilizing a broader spectrum of minds and resources in hopes of reaching artists and non-artists alike.
You may submit a proposal fitting into one of these categories: 1. Fusion/ Collaboration: an exhibit of artistic elements that is unified by a theme. This could utilize: music, movement, improvisation, dance, visual arts, original text, and various other medias.
2. Happening: a catalyst for social change and a media for philanthropic notions.
3. Staged Reading: should emphasize the text. The actors must refer to their scripts in uniform binders. All other theatrical elements must be used minimally as dictated by the script. A staged reading serves the purpose of offering feedback to the writer for further development. The feedback could be provided in the form of: a talkback, a ballot, or a sufficient proposed form.
4. Original Musical/Play: emphasizing the theatrical presentation of the piece. This work is subject to limitations.
The KEY word is EXPERIMENTAL. That means risky and ORIGINAL.
If you have an idea of a project you'd like to create, develop the main objective of the piece... the main message you would like to send. Then develop outlets to express that message. It is helpful to be as SPECIFIC as possible, so you are able to say what your project is saying in ONE sentence. Of course, the committee will help you in the process, but you have to make the first step.
Your performance space can be as experimental as the piece. ETP is unconventional. For instance, "Gender Anatomy: a Set of Presumptions One Faces When Owning a Body" was presented at Dunkin Donuts. Think out of the box!
I know you all have ideas of great projects, so PLEASE, let's make them happen!!!
