Thanks for registering with the Groupspaces site. I'm hoping most active members will make the transfer in the next couple of weeks. The aim is to complete the process before my subscription runs out on Meetup in mid April.

Functions will gradually transfer to www.edinburgh-philosophers.com and this is starting with the April Poll. This Poll will not be posted on the Meetup site and members will be directed to this site instead.

The Poll is now open, so click on the link to Vote. As usual, the Poll will stay open until late on Monday 18 April and Suggestions can be added added until Sunday 17 April.

I have uploaded a File for this month's topic on both sites. It may give you some ideas or you can just bring your own! You can view or download it using this link:

Don't forget to RSVP if your haven't already (this link will still take you to the Meetup site for the March meeting):

Subject: EDINBURGH - BBC SCOTLAND INVITATION TO BRIAN TAYLOR'S BIG DEBATE, FRIDAY 25 MARCH

----

Hello,

My name's Keren Coleman and I'm a researcher on Brian Taylor's Big Debate - a news and politics radio programme with a panel and audience on BBC Radio Scotland every Friday lunchtime.

A Scottish General Election is looming…so we'll kick off our coverage with a Campaign Managers Debate in the heart of the Capital.

On Friday 25th March, the radio programme will be returning to Edinburgh and broadcasting live from Greyfriars Church.

I would like to invite you/anyone from your organisation to come along as part of the participative audience.

The panel will consist of four people, so far including:

George Lyon - Liberal Democrat MEP for Scotland

John Park - Labour

Bruce Crawford - SNP

This event is open to the public.

We very much look forward to potentially seeing you on Friday 25th March!

Kind regards,

Keren Coleman,

Researcher, Brian Taylor's Big Debate

Groupspaces website open for testing!

Posted by Ray Miller, Tuesday, 15th March 2011 @ 11:51pm

  • In anticipation of a move from Meetup, this new website has been set up on Groupspaces. Hopefully, it re-creates the useful features of Meetup in a manner that allows better customisation and control. That should mean that it is easier and faster for you, the members, to find and access the information you need.

It is likely the switch will take place after the March meeting, as the Meetup subscription runs out on 16 April. Until the switch actually occurs, votes cast here will not count and neither will RSVPs, so please continue to use the Meetup site for those until then.

But do take the opportunity to explore all the functions here and let me know of anything that does not work or that could be improved.

There is now also an easy web address for you to access this site:
