Aims, objectives and functionality of the Steering Group
The framework for the tasks and regulations of the Steering Group (SG) was set up according to the EU-Council Conclusions on April 13, 2011.
The SG is a stable group of representatives of relevant inter-governmental bodies from the member states of the EUSDR and with meetings on a regular basis. The group is coordinated by two Priority Area Coordinators and the EU-Commission/ DG Regional Policy.
The SG's main purpose is to implement the EU Strategy for the Danube Region as well as to support and advise the PACs in certain concerns such as approving projects or nominate members to the Working Groups.
Four concrete targets of the SG where set in accordance with the EUSDR Action Plan, which was agreed upon in a democratic process by all member states of the Strategy.
