Join fellow cyclists for a fun, educational ride that visits many historic sites along the Ohio riverfront. Two ride options will be available, a 30 mile route and an 18 mile route, speeds dependent on riders. Both rides begin in downtown Cincinnati's Over-The-Rhine, at the Symphony Hotel, near Music Hall, traveling south to cross the historic Roebling Bridge, continuing through Covington to Wallace Woods and then east along the Kentucky side of the river, where the two routes separate in Ludlow, KY.
- Long Route - From Ludlow, this route offers a climb up to Devou Park and the Behringer Crawford Museum, (which can be skipped for a shorter ride) then downhill to continue along the Ohio River, crossing at the historic Anderson Ferry, and then climbing a significant hill to the College of Mount St. Joseph, the Delhi Historical Society, and the Price Hill Incline before descending back into the valley with a visit to the Betts House. The ride will end at the Symphony Hotel, near Washington Park.
- Short Route - Riding through Ludlow and staying along the Ohio River, this route will turn around at the Anderson Ferry, and eventually return to Ohio across the purple People Bridge, ride through downtown Cincinnati, visit the Betts House and end the ride at the Symphony Hotel.
Docents (Informative Guides) will be present at each historic site, for riders who want to enjoy a brief overview of the site’s contribution to Cincinnati, Kentucky and Ohio history. Some sites will offer snacks, more information to be provided at event check in.
Neither ride will have ride leaders for every group. Riders and groups will determine their own speed. The routes will be marked and maps/links provided, but an expected pace will be announced to complete the ride at an appointed hour. An overview flyer of the historic sites will be available at the registration table.
- $25 plus processing fee - CCC members will receive $5 back at registration
