Caregiver shortages are a major threat for the growth in homecare services. In fact, recruitment and retention of quality frontline caregivers is a global issue that mirrors the issue of the burgeoing aging population both in complexity and importance. Much of the literature that focuses on frontline caregivers attributes turnover to workplace injuries, low hourly wages, general burnout, and compassion fatique. Yet, grief is often overlooked as a contributing factor to caregivers leaving their jobs when the truth is that grief can significantly influence turnover. This webinar will focus on the intense grief that some caregivers experience when struggling with the acceptance of the many losses experienced because of COVID-19.
