The Social Innovation Tournament is a flagship initiative run by the European Investment Bank Institute’s social programme. The tournament covers projects in a wide range of areas from education, health care and job creation, to new technologies, new systems and new processes. Four prizes are awarded by the jury in each category. The general category and special category each have a first prize and second prize of €50,000 and €20,000 respectively.
The tournament is open to local government, as well as not-for-profit and for-profit organisations, young entrepreneurs and social enterprises, corporate responsibility departments of private sector companies, NGOs and university communities. The Tournament is open to individuals or teams from (or residing in) the EU Member States, Candidate and Potential Candidate countries, and EFTA countries that submit proposals to be implemented in one or more such countries.
