JOIN our team and support the 100% volunteer work that we do for people affected by cancer.

  • 'Cancer experience' is not a pre-requisite to join the Cancer Voices SA team. You don't need to have had cancer, or know anyone with cancer to join the team. Some of our riders are cancer survivors, partners, family, friends, neighbours or supporters of someone with cancer.
  • Our riders participate in a number of cycling events throughout the year.
  • We have riders at a range of levels of experience and fitness.
  • Wear our jersey whenever you ride, to promote Cancer Voices SA.

Our aim is to 'raise a voice for people affected by cancer' whenever you ride with us or with our team name on your jersey.

Help yourself on the road to a healthy lifestyle, while you help us raise greater awareness about cancer and promote Cancer Voices SA.

Cancer Voices SA - Cycling Team - background

We started training together in early December 2008, in preparation for the 2009 Tour Down Under Community Challenge Ride. Thanks Ben Flannagan from Stonyfell EFM Health Club, for volunteering to take us on training rides. The training tips and encouragement from these rides helped many to achieve a ‘personal challenge’ way beyond expectation. Follow our journey...Click on Gallery and see where we've gone since then!

THANK YOU Ben Flannagan (EFM Stonyfell) for training tips, motivation, team development and support on training rides since the Cancer Voices SA Cycling Team began in Dec 2008. Much appreciated! Presenting this 'Certificate of Appreciation' to Ben at our pre-Christmas training ride, 19 Dec 2010).

Currently most CVSA activity is focussed on facilitating access to world’s best-practice cancer treatment and care which also take into account the mental and social effects of cancer, not just the physical symptoms. We seek coordinated, patient-focussed and multidisciplinary care, with high quality information and communication, across the spectrum of diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and palliative care – it is about looking after the whole person beyond their clinical cancer treatment.
