Location:Massimo Ristorante - 1604 Locust St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596
This event is in the past.
Please join us for our monthly chapter meeting and Marshall's presentation - "Elementary Title for Surveyors and Why it's Important" on August 14th in Walnut Creek!
Marshall's experience in the title field spans over 5 decades. Despite his early interests in mathematics, computer programming and environmental science, he began his career as a third generation real estate agent, working for his father. He left real estate when interest rates hit 21%. After being accepted to four different jobs on the same day, he chose the one with the lowest salary and the best archive - Western Title Company.
He very quickly moved through the ranks in the title industry with multiple job titles such as Courtroom Abstractor, Senior Examiner, Subdivision Title Officer, Foreclosure Title Officer and Special Projects/Hi Liability TO. Although he handled numerous projects, the largest and most notable were Concord Naval Weapons Station and the Cypress Structure Freeway Relocation after the Loma Prieta Earthquake.
In 2008 Marshall struck out on his own opening Expert Title Research specializing in title research for Attorneys, Utilities, and Surveyors and Title Companies. However he says that Surveyors are the most fun.
Marshall is working at being retired, semi-unsuccessfully. His current projects include writing a book and creating software on Title Examining. He also enjoys Physical Fitness and teaching 2 bouncy Cocker Spaniel puppies about Appurtenant Easements.
