The strength of the CRTN its connection to Continuous GPS (CGPS) stations, which are the primary control points for the State. With careful, redundant observations surveyors can bring in elevations from verifyable benchmarks and orient their projects to NAD83 geographic positions. Users can connect to a RTCM3 stream on the internet though a NTRIP account to receive single-baseline, real-time corrections of coordinates provided by the California Spatial Reference Center (CSRC.)
Greg is going to discuss the benefits of the system, connection to it, and share some detailed testing that he has been doing using it. He has been testing its point positioning and network accuracy within the Central San service area.
