Apologies. There has been an unavoidable delay to our new website publication caused by illness. The new site will be up and running by Thurs 14th Feb.

The new website (see previous post) is now designed, but is still being tested.

It will go live on 11th February.

Remember there is no deadline for registration for Brighton Five Pound Fringe.

Brighton £5ringe is building a new website that will make registering and selling tickets for your events much easier.

The aim is to create an 'open source' fringe, allowing you to promote your events as simply, cheaply and effectivley as possible. And, true to our name, registration will cost you just five pounds.

The new site will be live before the end of the month. Check this site for updates.

If you are an artist, writer, musician, theatre-maker or in any other way creative and wish to take part in the second year of our exciting, grass-roots, triple-award winning Fringe Festival, please email info@foundrygroup.co.uk

If you are looking for a very-nearly-free venue for your event, do not hesitate to contact us.

You are cordially invited to The Rock, Kemptown, this Monday 28th May, to attend the closing night of the first ever Brighton £5ringe.

The event kicks off at 8pm with a performance of the multi-award-winning 'Big Daddy Vs. Giant Haystacks'.

Then we are all heading to the bar, where you are more than welcome to join us in a celebratory drink or two, and where we will remain until we're thrown out.

And that's it!

(Oh - and by the way, you have to pay to see 'Big Daddy Vs. Giant Haystacks'. But don't worry - it's only a fiver.)

We at Brighton £5ringe do not believe in awards for artistic endeavour.

However, in honour of the late, great Ronald Searle, we have decided to award one prize this year, and one prize only - the mrs. joyful prize for rafia work.

Sadly, none of the participants in Brighton £5ringe are eligible. Nor is any actual raffia work.

This prize can only be awarded to an event from 2012 Brighton Fringe or Festival that has won at least one of the other prizes - be it a Latest 7 All-Star Award or an Argus Angel.

For our criteria, we refer you to page 13 of 'Down with Skool', by Geoffrey Willans and Ronald Searle.

Announcement will be made the day after all the other awards announcements.

Tonight at The Rock, Kemptown, at 8pm we have David Bramwell's hilarious, true, picaresque tale of one man's quest for a better way of life: The No. 9 Bus to Utopia (£5)

Also, a free gig from 9pm at The Mesmerist, Prince Albert Street, from Jive Rock 'n' Roll 5 piece The Capguns

And, of course, we have all the festival-long exhibitions Pin-Up, Cameron's Dream, City, Corporate Fight Club, and This Is Obsolete.

Today at 12.30 we have another Lunchtime Recital at St. Nicholas' Church (Dyke Road), with pianist Christopher Harris. (Suggested donation £2)

At 8.30pm at The Rock, Kemptown, Shauna Parker sings the songs of Patsy Cline in Crazy Shauna (£5)

And, of course, we have all the festival-long exhibitions Pin-Up, Cameron's Dream, City, Corporate Fight Club, and This Is Obsolete.

You are cordially invited to a party on 6th May, 7.30pm, to celebrate the commencement of Brighton £5ringe at The Rock, Kemptown.

With an amazing Indian Buffet supplied by Khans of Kemp Town, entertainment, and a license till 1pm, there's no better way to spend Bank Holiday Sunday.

Comedy Rocks, on Friday 18th May, Upstairs at The Rock, Kemptown, is cancelled.

Instead, Terry Garoghan has schdelued an extra performance of his brand new show 'Lend Us A Fiver!' for 8.30pm
