Hi all
Hope exams have gone well and also as many of you as possible managed to secure the internships or graduate jobs you were after.
If you haven't, don't be too disspointed, you are not at all alone. However, we would strongly point you in the direction of the Student Internship Bureau which arranages internships purely for York students. Check out their facebook page here to see see what is still available or log into the interactive careers service and apply the filter "Student Internship Bureau"
Secondly, we would like to introduce ourselves as the new committee of Bright Futures York, part of the Uk's largest network of careers societies.
Anton Gospodinov and Liam Tollinton (Co-Presidents)
James Ellis (Treasurer)
Ross D'Lima (Secretary)
Ric Wilson and Yesha Agrawal (Events Officers)
Mariana Lazarenko Linda Yang (Corporate Liason)
James Aglionby (Marketing)
Thirdly, careers have organised an event next week for those who are interested in a career in the Fundraising sector. The talk is by a York alumnus who has a wealth of experience working for charities since she graduated. Details as follows: Friday 21st June. 12:30-13:30. Careers building
Finally, here is a fantastic blog written by the president of Strathclyde University Bright Futures. Great tips on improving your employability written by someone who, despite being only the same age as us has built up a great deal of experience.
