As is traditional the location of this year's Chairman's walk is being kept underwraps until nearer the time. We will be organising this year's walk so as to allow as many members as is permittable to gather together. However we will also ensure that the format of the walk means that as many members as possible can take part, even those who cannot not meet in person. If we can meet in person then it is very likely this will require us to follow the COVID secure guidelines which will mean we need you to pre-book and provide your details for track and trace.
The complexities of an ever changing situation with COVID-19 means that we have a number of different possible plans for the format of the walk. We may not know until very close to the day what the post-national lockdown restrictions will be. What we can say is:
- We'll be aiming for a 10am start as usual and the location will be no more than 90mins drive from central Leicester. You should expect to have to make your own way there as lift sharing is unlikely to be permitted.
- We expect the walk to last around 5 hours and you should bring sufficient food/drink with you for that duration. And of course be dressed and equipped for the prevailing conditions.
- If we can meet in person then there will be various requirements including the need to have booked your place and to be equipped with face masks, hand sanitiser, etc. We will advise the details of this and how to book nearer the time.
- We won't be having any kind of sitdown meal as part of the walk. However you should bring a packed lunch to eat enroute and there will be an opportunity for a short break to eat your lunch.
