Vuselela School Makeover’s

Vuselela School Makeover’s objective is to uplift rural schools.
We adopted Ronwe Primary School in Klein Drakenstein, Paarl where we, with the help of Trees4Schools, planted a Vegetable Garden to complement the existing feeding scheme. We have secured a sponsor for the 1st Rugby Team’s new jerseys in 2018. We are in the process of clearing the school yard of rubble and renovating the building.

JemBekkies Crèche in Southern Paarl is another project that we are involved in. Here we need glass for a window (already sponsored), ceiling board and tiles/carpet for the floor. They are also in need of some mattresses for the little ones to sleep on.

Objectives at schools we get involved in

·         To improve the school environment under which children learn.

·         Renovation and upkeep of the school buildings, school grounds, classrooms, bathrooms and offices in such a way that the learning experience will be happy and satisfying for the children, and they will have a sense of pride and belonging.

·         To work in collaboration with organisations to ensure the children are fed during the day which in turn improves their concentration and energy levels.

·         To identify and train community members to maintain the school / school grounds and to support the computer lab (if any present or needed).

·         To identify learners with sport talent and support them by means of sponsorships to reach their potential.

·         To identify the learners with exceptional skills (Maths, Science etc) and match them to a sponsor company / individual that will sponsor their education up to and through university level.

Together with Miko our biggest project at the moment is affording 10 learners from Ronwe Primary the opportunity to cycle in the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2018. They will be accompanied by a few of the teachers.

On top of this there is the logistics that we need help with:

·         Support vehicle on training rides

·         Transport to training rides in Cape Town – 15 seater with trailer to transport 15 bicycles

·         Transport to the Registration on 10 March 2018 – 15 seater with trailer to transport the bicycles

·         Accommodation for the group of 15 or more the night before the Cape Town Cycle Tour – 10 March 2018

·         Nutrition and the right food for the children from 1 December 2017 to 11 March 2018 – future life etc

·         15 Matching sport bags with names for the helmets and other clothes.

As you can see this is a huge project and we appreciate any help that you can offer us. We have less than 4 months to prepare the children for the race.
Please be aware that any donations towards the bicycles and cycling gear of R2500 or more will get the name and logo of the sponsoring company on the cycling shirts (30) and the supporters shirts (20).
Help with the logistics can be discussed on where and how we put the names on the cycling clothes. Only the first 10 companies that meets the criteria will be accommodated on the cycling gear as we do not want the printing to be too small.
I attach an example of what our cycling kit might look like.
