Youth March

Location: Walter Sisulu Centre Noordgesig

This event is in the past.

Walter Sisulu Centre Noordgesig with the march starting at 8:30 and we expect to be finish at 11:30 am, returning back to the centre, where we will be addressed by various speakers and enjoy some refreshments.


  • To create an awareness within the community about the importance of protecting our children

  • To create an awareness to our kids as to what the dangers are within the society

  • To know who to contact and what to do in case of an emergency

  • To get community to become more involved in the policing and becoming what they call to be my brother’s keeper and to bring back the spirit of Ubuntu

  • For the community to understand the importance of reporting crime no matter how small it might seem

  • To get Government to understand that we need more visible policing and interaction from our local SAPS

  • For Government  to put support structures in place to make our communities a safer place

  • For government to build and establish safe centres for children to go and stimulate their minds through well sought out sporting and other activities in order to build a brighter future for our kids

    Action plan

  • To have a March throughout Noordgesig and raise our concerns, led by Fire Engine, Local Brass Band, Biker Club

  • Return to venue to listen to speakers to address all issues around child protection and community issues

  • Social and Welfare experts to address the attendees

  • Performance by local artists.

  • SAPS to speak on community safety

  • Handing over of memoranda to SAPS, NPA and Dept. of Jusctice 

  • Youth to speak on how important they are to South Africa
