Brown County ARES®/RACES

Brown County ARES®/RACES

A.R.E.S. (Amateur Radio Emergency Services) & R.A.C.E.S. (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services) are group of volunteers, all licensed hams, dedicated to serving the public in time of need.
Brown County ARES/RACES [BCARES] works closely with the Emergency Manager, operates the Severe Weather Net in Brown County (Skywarn) and provides support for local community events.
We meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Brown County EOC (2nd Floor, Brown County Jail) 3030 Curry Lane in Green Bay. The ARES/RACES 2 meter net is every Sunday evening at 8:00pm on the 147.120MHz + repeater 107.2 PL. All Amateur Radio operators are welcome to check in.
If you are interested in getting involved with ARES®/RACES, come to a meeting and check us out or check into one of our nets.
We are affiliated with the Green Bay Mike & Key Club which provides many of the wide-area coverage repeaters in Brown County. Although membership in the club is not required, please consider supporting the club. For more information go to http://k9eam.org.

Brown County ARES Meeting this Wednesday (March 22nd, 2017)

There wil be a meeting this Wednesday at 6:30 at the Brown County Jail (EOC) on the 2nd floor.

Park in the main parking lot right as you enter the complex (not directly in front of building, those are reserved). Use the main entrance. As you enter, take the stairs to the right.

This is the County Jail and the EOC (upstairs) is a secure facility, so if the door is locked, wait until someone lets you in.

Sunday Nets Are Back!

The Brown County A.R.E.S. 8:00 pm Sunday night nets will be on the 147.120 repeater.

In the event you are unable to make your NCS date, please contact another station
from the list and coordinate an exchange.

In the event of severe weather we will still activate a weather net on the 147.120 repeater.

A reminder that our backup repeater is the 147.360 (+ 107.2) machine at Bellin Hospital.  In addition, our primary simplex frequence is 146.420.  As you may be able to tell, the 147.120 repeater is not in good health.  Repairs are coming soon.

Be sure to check into the Tuesday evening 2 meter net at 8:45pm on the 147.120 repeater or come to the Mike & Key Club meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month at St. Norbert College Gehl-Mulva (GM) Science Building. on Reid Street in De Pere. See K9EAM.ORG
