Afro House music has been making waves in the South African music scene for a long while now, but the new generation has been putting a finishing touches and adding diifernt production elements and adding more afro inspired musical elements to it. 

First was the birth of kwaito which has its roots from the tribal/Afro House songs of South Africa and has made quite an interesting wave in its time.

From the kwaito came the Durban based Gqom music which flooded the airwaves with a repetition sounds and kicks was heavy and metalic. The Gqom which is a sub genre of the Afro House music is still making waves today. Many artist like Pro-TeeSho Madjozi has been on the fore front with massive hit singles and constant releases.

The latest wave is the Amapiano sub genre which is just so melodic with sounds of piano and gongs and lovely melodies. The amapiano is the latest urban sound hitting the airwaves with its dance steps conquering the world dance scene.

Artist like KG Da King, Kwish SA, DJ MaphorisaKabza De SmallShaShaMfr SoulsVigro DeepEntity MusiqSamthing Soweto has had a fair share of the success and proceds that comes with the massive hits songs of the genre.
