We are building a 'tool' for physios to teach in developing communities.
We have seen excellent physios working in developing countries showing what can be done with just a pair of hands but normally this is a short term placement for up to a few years at best. The lack of resources in communities is then highlighted when the physio leaves. We would like to see rehabilitation as sustainable and available to all, empowering communities with knowldege and skills to take control of their own healthcare.
We will focus on putting modules together to teach basic physio skills, to remain within communities for the long term. In time, these skills will be added to by returning physios, resulting in a deeper understanding of rehabilitation in local communities.
We need input from all areas of physiotherapy. We can not do this alone and warmly welcome any advice, help or ideas.
