Jean Frey Award- Olivia Essig
Olivia is heavily involved in her community by participating in the Momentum Youth Group, the Hamburg Invasion Community Service Event, Vacation Bible School, traveling to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip, volunteering at youth basketball clinics, middle school and youth basketball tournaments, youth field hockey camp, Trick-or-treat for UNICEF and bell ringing for the Salvation Army.
Olivia was a four-year basketball, field hockey and track participant. She was selected captain for the basketball and field hockey teams. Olivia is a member and President of the Lifeline Club (9-12), President of the Chemistry Club (10-12), Leadership in Student Athletes Club (10-12), Spanish Club (12), Wilderness Club (10-12), Prom Committee (11), National Honor Society (12), Science Olympiad (12), Student Council (12), Class Treasurer (9-12) and Hamburg Mini-THON Committee (11-12).
Catherine Rhodes Award- Devon Merritt
Devon is involved in her community through the Berks Basketball Association, Children’s Alopecia Project, National Honor Society and Saint Ambassadors.
Devon was a four-year basketball and volleyball player. Merritt completed her high school career with a school-record 1,730 points and more than 1,000 rebounds. She was named to the Sports Writers Pennsylvania High School Girls Basketball All-State First Team in Class AAA. She is also an All-State volleyball player.
